In April 2025, Horacio Beamonte, a 48-year-old renowned Mexican actor, was hospitalized on an emergency basis at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán in Mexico City.
Initially, the symptoms were mistaken for a hernia, but after medical studies, he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an aggressive form of blood cancer aggravated by a genetic mutation known as the Philadelphia chromosome.

During his hospitalization, Beamonte faced additional complications, including a bacterial blood infection and pneumonia, which required intensive treatment with antibiotics, steroids and blood transfusions.

Miraculous remission and continued treatment
In early June, Beamonte announced that his leukemia and the Philadelphia chromosome were no longer present in his blood, which is medically considered a remission process.
However, he clarified that this stage should not be confused with a definitive cure and that treatment continues.
The medical protocol includes continuous intravenous immunotherapy for 30 days, hospital check-ups every 48 hours and 12 monthly lumbar punctures for chemotherapy administration.
In addition, specialized drugs that block the growth of cancer cells are administered.
Relapse and request for prayers
On July 1, 2025, Beamonte reported through his social networks that he would be transferred on emergency to the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán due to a relapse in his health.
He expressed that he presented intense pain in his gums, swelling on the right side of his belly and extreme tiredness. He asked his followers to pray for him at this difficult time.
