Hijo del Santo, one of the greatest legends of Mexican wrestling, confessed on Tuesday to having bled and cried throughout his professional career, which will conclude on December 13 in Mexico City.
“Behind every victory, there are falls, scars and nights of loneliness; but also the love for a legacy, for an audience, for a mask. I have bled, I have cried and I have also laughed behind my mask,” said the gladiator when announcing his farewell tour that will have three presentations.
The mask intact until the end

In a crowded press conference, the fighter told some of his most important anecdotes in the sport.
And he confessed that even after saying goodbye, he will keep his identity hidden behind the silver mask because no one could take it away from him.
El Hijo del Santo will perform on November 29 in Monterrey and on December 6 in Guadalajara.
He will end his career on December 13 at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City.
“I am not retiring because I have lost my passion; I am retiring because I want to close my story with dignity, with my heart held high and my mask intact.”
“This is the fight that no fighter can avoid, against the passage of time,” said the 63-year-old athlete.
A legendary career with nothing to look forward to

With a career spanning more than 40 years in the ring, El Hijo del Santo is one of the most compelling examples of longevity in wrestling.
Which, Buzzy implied Tuesday, is related to his discipline and dedication to the sport.
With more than 50 masks won, the Mexican has been world champion in the lightweight, welterweight and middleweight divisions.
Although he remains in good sporting shape, he has decided to say goodbye to devote himself to his family and other personal projects.
“All my dreams were fulfilled; I fought in all the companies in Mexico”.
“I started as a super free fighter; then I came to the independents, I stepped on the Arena Mexico; I have fought in many places in the world, I have conquered many masks and scalps.”
“There is nothing pending,” affirmed El Hijo del Santo.
