Inter Miami will host the winner of Liga MX at Nu Stadium on September 16 for the Champions Cup, which every year pits the winners of MLS and the Mexican tournament against each other. The winner will be selected from a July clash between Toluca and Cruz Azul.
Toluca lifted the last Mexican Apertura, while Cruz Azul won the Clausura, and they will meet for the outright title on July 25 in California.
Inter Miami wants to extend its dominance

Inter Miami won the first MLS Cup in its history last December.
This after beating Vancouver Whitecups 3-1 in the final played in Miami, and it will be the first time they play in this tournament.
The team led by Lionel Messi has a positive record in recent encounters against Mexican teams.
Last year, they won four victories in four matches against teams from that country in the Leagues Cup (Filed as: Inter Miami will play in the Champions Cup).
Liga MX dominates history

However, they have never played an official match against Toluca and have only faced Cruz Azul once, beating them 2-1 in the 2023 Leagues Cup.
The history of the Champions Cup is favorable to Liga MX.
They have four wins -the last three in a row- against three MLS teams.
