Mixteip is a compilation of 10 songs -with an approximate duration of 26 minutes- that reaffirm J Balvin’s creative power.
The album includes collaborations with Gilberto Santa Rosa in “Misterio”, a fusion of salsa and reggaeton.
Stormzy on “Uuu”, with British hip-hop influences; Lenny Tavárez and Justin Quiles on “Zun Zun”, which evokes traditional reguetón.
The single “Zun Zun” was even accompanied by a music video with a nostalgic 90’s aesthetic, premiered on MTV and screened in Times Square, New York.
From viral beat to official single
When Mixteip appeared, the song “¿Dónde Está José?” had no lyrics: it was part of an instrumental beat that became a viral phenomenon.
Thousands of fans -from countries such as Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, among others- recorded their own voices and versions of this musical base.
J Balvin actively invited them to participate, which generated a creative community crisis in networks.
With “Si Te Vas”, this collective imagination takes shape in a studio production with official vocals.
J Balvin releases new song
The Colombian’s song, with a duration of approximately 3 minutes and 18 seconds, was formally launched on August 13, 2025.
In this piece, Jay Wheeler brings his signature romantic voice, transforming the track into an intimate and emotional experience that contrasts with the collective force that drove its creation.
A beat without lyrics that crossed borders and generated authentic participation, and ended up in an official release.
