U.S. comedian Jimmy Kimmel branded U.S. President Donald Trump a “sick, irresponsible man” after lashing out at filmmaker Rob Reiner, who died last weekend, in a condolence post on his Truth Social network.

Kimmel opened the monologue of his nightly show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ by taking stock of current news, mentioning, in addition to the Sydney bombings, the murders of Rob Reiner and his wife Michele at their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles County.

“What we need at a time like this, in addition to common sense when it comes to guns and mental health, is compassion and leadership,” the comedian alerted.

“We didn’t get that from our president because he has nothing to give. Instead, we got a fool rambling on about nonsense, we got a brief moment of respect for our friends in Australia, we got a brief moment of condolence followed by ‘something happened’ for the Brown students and for Rob and Michele Reiner,” he added.

The comedian made reference to the message of condolences sent by the Republican president for Reiner’s death, whom he accused of having an unhealthy obsession against him.

The president attributed the crime to “the anger he provoked in others by his enormous, stubborn, incurable affliction with a mentally crippling illness known as Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Rob Reiner and his wife, producer and photographer Michele Reiner, were found dead on Sunday, December 14, at their home in the wealthy town of Brentwood, where, according to initial indications leaked by the press, their throats were slit by one of their sons.

The couple’s middle son, Nick, was arrested and booked on murder charges, and although the motives that may have led him to commit the crime are unknown at this time, family members say there was a family argument at a holiday party at comedian Conan O’Brien’s home, according to the Los Angeles Times.
