The Mexican series ‘Doc’, starring actor Juan Pablo Medina (‘La casa de las flores’), announced Thursday its premiere on March 4 on Netflix, an adaptation of the hit Italian drama inspired by doctor Pierdante Piccioni, who, in real life, lost his memory after a traffic accident.

The trailer for the series was published on the social networks of the streaming platform in Latin America. This adaptation tells the story of Andrés Ferrara who, “after an assassination attempt, loses 12 years of memories and has to rebuild who he is”.

In this first glimpse, the cast includes Mexicans Juan Pablo Medina, Gabriela de la Garza (‘Las Aparicio’) and Giuseppe Gamba (‘Cindy la regia’), Peruvian Stephanie Cayo (‘Hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar’) and Spaniard Iván Sánchez (La Reina del Sur).

With a dramatic tone, the series deals with people’s struggle for second chances, medical dilemmas and love conflicts involving Ferrera’s character, who in the Italian production ‘Doc – Nelle tue mani’ (2020) stars Luca Argentero.

The premiere of the original series in Italy was a success after it was distributed in more than 100 countries and expanded to three seasons, as well as the adaptation of this story in the United States, which became Fox’s most watched debut in more than five years, with 16 million viewers.

The Mexican version of ‘Doc’ will be produced by Sony Pictures and will be directed by Fran Franco, Andrés López and Harold Ariza, reported Agencia EFE, with executive producers Coty Cagliolo, Carlos Quintanilla Sakar, Alejandro García and Madelaine Contreras.
