The Los Angeles Dodgers qualified Thursday for the National League Championship Series in the Major League Baseball (MLB) postseason by opening a 3-1 series difference with the best-of-5 Philadelphia Phillies.
The Dodgers now await the winner of the fifth and deciding game in the National League Divisional Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs.
Dodgers 2-1 Phillies

Reliever Orion Kerkering committed an error on a hit by Cuban Andy Pages.
This allowed the Dodgers to score the decisive run in a game that extended into the eleventh inning.
Pages reached the batter’s box with the bases loaded and two outs, and connected on a grounder to pitcher Kerkering.
Orion took the ball on a second attempt and misthrew the catcher as he tried to retire South Korea’s Hyeseong Kim at the plate.
The maneuver allowed the Dodgers (3-1) to score the run that clinched the MLB Divisional Series at the expense of the Phillies (1-3).
Glasnow shines and guides victory
Tyler Glasnow gave manager Dave Roberts six innings of two-hit, no-run, eight-strikeout ball as the Dodgers celebrated in front of their home crowd in Los Angeles.
Peruvian Jesús Luzardo (0-2), who threw 1.2 episodes, took the loss after being credited with the run scored on Kerkering’s error.
Cubs 6-0 Brewers

Ian Happ, Kyle Tucker and Michael Busch all knocked the ball out of the park in the Cubs’ placid victory that has forced the series into a fifth and deciding game in the MLB National League Divisional Series.
Happ hit his three-run homer in the same first inning, giving the Cubs (2-2) the lead.
The Cubs have allowed just one run in the last 14 innings against the Brewers (2-2).
Tucker and Busch keep series alive
Tucker added his home run in the seventh act and scored two runs.
While Busch added his third homer of the postseason in the eighth.
Dominican Freddy Peralta (1-1) was hit with three runs in four innings, in which he struck out six, and lost the game.
The fifth and decisive game will be played this Saturday in Milwaukee, where the Brewers (2-2) won the first two games of this series.
