On May 13, 2025, Oscar Herrera Cornejo, a Hispanic worker residing in Kansas, suffered a 7,200-volt electrical shock while using an aluminum ladder in the midst of strong wind gusts. The accident occurred during a workday and left him in critical condition, with severe burns and connected to a respirator in the intensive care unit.

After several days of fighting for his life, Oscar Herrera Cornejo passed away on May 19, 2025. His heart remained stable for a few days, and fortunately there was no brain damage at the beginning.
