American singer Katy Perry (Santa Barbara, California, 40 years old) and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Ottawa, 53 years old) made headlines once again after the publication of photographs that fueled rumors of a possible relationship between the two. According to international media reports such as Daily Mail, People and Page Six, the images show the artist and the politician sharing a moment of intimacy on a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.
Rumors began circulating in late July 2024, when Perry and Trudeau were spotted dining together at an upscale restaurant in Montreal, Canada. At the time, the artist was in the city as part of her Lifetimes world tour. Coincidentally, both Perry and Trudeau were going through recent romantic breakups.
The singer had announced a month earlier her separation from actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she had a nine-year relationship, a planned wedding and a daughter in common, Daisy Dove, five years old. In one of the photos, the former prime minister appears shirtless and in jeans, while holding the singer by the waist. Perry, meanwhile, is wearing a swimsuit and appears to be enjoying the break between tour dates.
The witness quoted by the media assured that he identified Trudeau by his tattoo on his left shoulder, which represents “the planet Earth inside a Haida crow”, a symbol that the politician has explained on several occasions on his social networks.

Two days after that dinner in Montreal, Trudeau was spotted at Katy Perry’s concert at the Bell Centre, further fueling speculation. According to a source quoted by People magazine, “there is a mutual attraction” between the two, although he clarified that the relationship “is just beginning and it will take time to see how it evolves”.
The same source stressed that, despite their complicated schedules, the two “have a lot in common” and could keep in touch from a distance while managing their family responsibilities.
Another person close to the singer offered a more cautious version, indicating that it was just a casual date: “They have shared time and interesting conversations, but dating is not on their radar. They are still in touch, although there are no immediate plans to meet again”.
