Larson sweeps Kansas to lead NASCAR 2025 with all-time records

Wins third race of the year

California driver Kyle Larson reaffirmed his dominance in the 2025 NASCAR season after taking the win at the Kansas round on Sunday, May 11.

Larson, at the wheel of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, led 221 of the 267 laps, consolidating a masterful performance that leaves him at the top of the championship with 469 points.

From pole position, Kyle Larson set the pace and remained uncatchable for most of the day, winning the first two stages without much resistance.

Only in the final laps did he face some pressure, when tire wear reduced his lead over Christopher Bell from two seconds to just 0.7 at the checkered flag.

Bell finished second, followed by Ryan Blaney in third.

This win represents Kyle Larson’s third victory of the year.

He has already secured his place in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. In addition, the driver reached important milestones:

He surpassed 10,000 laps led in his career, now totaling 10,073.

He achieved his eighth stage victory in 2025, an all-time record for the first 12 races on the calendar.

He achieved his 32nd win in the category, tying him for 29th all-time winner with Hall of Famer and 1999 champion Dale Jarrett.

The NASCAR 2025 schedule will continue with the All-Star Race next weekend.

This is a non-championship scoring event, but with high visibility.

On May 25, the regular season will resume at Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina.
