In recent months, the program The Hot Tableaired on Telemundo Monday through Friday at 3 p.m. ET, has gone through a period of significant changes.
The evening show lost two of its most recognized hosts: Myrka Dellanos y Giselle Blondetwhich marks an important change in the program’s dynamics.
La Mesa Caliente’ to welcome new female hosts
When the show debuted in March 2022, it did so with a quartet of hosts including Dellanos, Blondet, Veronica Bastos y Alix Aspe. However, as time went by, the lineup changed until only Bastos remained as the original member.
Currently, the program has two regular hosts: Verónica Bastos and Andrea Meza. Andrea Mezawho joined the program in August last year. At the time, Meza confessed that it was not an easy decision to join the project, but that she considered it an important step in her career. She said she arrived with enthusiasm, ready to bring her perspective and authenticity to conversations that, she said, are relevant to the audience.
Giselle Blondet’s departure was officially announced last week. Bastos informed the public that the presenter was attending to a medical situation and that the team was saying goodbye to her with thanks and wishes for a speedy recovery.
The announcement came a few months after Myrka Dellanos’ departure. The journalist reacted publicly making clear her position on her disengagement. “I don’t sell myself for money. Yes, I was taken off the air, but with great honor”, she said, stressing that her departure did not affect her principles.
These two consecutive departures generated speculation among the program’s followers, who wondered what the future direction of the program would be.
A total renovation on its fourth anniversary
Far from weakening, the program is preparing to begin a new phase on March 2, when it will celebrate its fourth anniversary on the air. The network announced that this season will come with important changes in both content and image.
According to the program En casa con Telemundo, Bastos and Meza will be joined by two new hosts, as well as special guests who promise to generate conversation. It was also reported that the show will debut a new graphic image, new scenery and innovative content.
With this transformation, La mesa caliente seeks to reaffirm itself as one of the most solid afternoon programs on Hispanic television, betting on a more dynamic and fresh stage that promises, as its own hosts have announced, to “raise the temperature” in each broadcast.
