Players from both teams got into an argument that quickly escalated.
Among those involved was Inter Miami midfielder Sergio Busquets of Spain, who was trying to separate some teammates while others got into fights with opponents.
Tension erupted when members of the coaching staff also entered the field to restrain their players.
It was at that moment when Luis Suárez, visibly upset by the defeat and the verbal exchanges, launched a spitball at a member of the Seattle staff.
