Colombian singer Manuel Turizo offered on Saturday night, August 23, a vibrant show at the United Palace in Washington Heights, Upper Manhattan, as part of his “201 Tour”.

It is a tour that celebrates his roots and the diversity of Latin genres that have made him one of the most influential artists of his generation.

The historic theater, with a capacity of more than 3,000 people, was almost completely filled with a mostly Latino audience that responded enthusiastically to the artist’s invitation.

“Where are my Latinos?” asked Turizo at the start of the concert, and the room erupted in screams, tricolor Colombian flags and signs with messages of support.

New York City, with its great diversity of Hispanic communities, became the perfect setting for Turizo’s proposal: a musical journey that included pop, reggaeton, salsa, bachata, merengue and even touches of regional Mexican.

A career built on success

At 25 years old, Manuel Turizo has already accumulated an important list of hits that have consolidated him in the music industry.

Since debuting in 2017 with “Una lady como tú,” a song that went viral throughout Latin America and among Hispanics in the U.S., the singer has been able to reinvent himself and expand his repertoire.

In New York he performed some of his most recent hits in collaboration with other renowned artists, such as “Vagabundo” with Sebastián Yatra and Beéle, or “Una vaina loca” with Ozuna, which unleashed the euphoria of the audience.

He also paid tribute to his Mexican fans with songs such as “De lunes a lunes”, a duet with Grupo Frontera, and “Una cerveza”, a song he shares with Fuerza Regida.

Turizo humbly recalled that Mexico was one of the first countries where his music achieved mass popularity.

A show designed as a home

The stage was set as a house, with a recreated apartment including a table, bed and closet.

The detail was not accidental: “201” is the number of the apartment in Montería, his hometown in Colombia, which gives its name to his latest album and tour.

In the middle of this homey set, Turizo wore a cap with the inscription “201” and moved freely between lights and shadows, constantly interacting with the audience.

He lay down on the bed to perform intimate ballads such as “Dios te cuide” and “Esclavo de tus besos”, accompanied only by a piano, in one of the most emotional moments of the night.

The singer not only shone for his voice and energy, but also for his approachability.

In a spontaneous gesture, he showed the camera a sign that jokingly read “Viva el chorizo”, alluding to his last name.

He also came down from the stage to congratulate a young lady celebrating her birthday, with whom he took a selfie amidst the applause.

But the climax of the concert came with “La bachata”, his global hit of 2022 that still holds true today, especially in New York, where a large Dominican community resides.

Turizo danced with a couple on stage and then let the audience sing a capella choruses, achieving one of the most vibrant moments of the night.

An explosive closing and international tour

Around midnight, Turizo closed his performance shirtless, dancing with his team to the rhythm of merengues such as “El merengue” and “Enhorabuena”, among columns of smoke and lights that gave the show a festival air.

The “201 Tour” began in June 2025 in Latin America and is currently touring different cities in the United States, where the Hispanic community continues to be his most loyal audience.

After his U.S. tour, the singer will return in September to South America and in October he will start his European tour, consolidating his status as one of the Latin artists with the greatest international projection.
