Colombian journalist Mario Andrés Moreno, widely known for his work in Mega TV and SBS, caused concern among his followers by sharing a video on his Instagram account in which he appeared dressed in a hospital gown, minutes away from entering the operating room.
In the recording, made by his wife, fellow journalist Bárbara Bermudo, you can hear her ask him: “Why are you here?”, to which he responds calmly and clearly .
What is a lipoma and why did you have surgery?
“Some time ago, I think I had a blow when I was a boy,” Moreno explained. “Dr. Pedro told me that when you get hit, the cell can explode and then reproduce, forming something called a lipoma, a little ball of fat”.
A lipoma is a benign tumor formed by fatty tissue that, although not usually dangerous, can grow over time and cause discomfort.
In the case of Mario Andrés, the mass was detected years ago, but it was not until now -after his departure from Mega TV- that he decided to undergo the surgical procedure.
“Now that I have more time, I started talking to Dr. Pedro,” she said in reference to Dr. Pedro Guiribitey, a well-known physician in Miami and husband of Cuban-American influencer Taty Guiribitey, known as La Mami Lover.
It was precisely in a conversation with them and with his wife Bárbara Bermudo that he made the decision to stop postponing the surgery.
A necessary and successful procedure
The procedure was performed at the renowned CG Cosmetic Surgery clinic in Miami, which specializes in medical and cosmetic procedures.
“Status: grateful,” Moreno wrote after the surgery.
“God always puts those key and special people in your life. Today it was Dr. Pedro Guiribitey and my dear Mami Lover. Thanks to the extraordinary team of doctors at CG Cosmetic, I am happy, calm and ready for the summer,” reported the presenter.
The communicator also took the opportunity to send a health awareness message: “That’s why I tell you, it is key not to neglect yourself; get checked and always go to routine medical appointments”.
The unconditional support of his family
Throughout the process, Bárbara Bermudo, his wife of more than 15 years, was by his side.
The couple has three daughters and has been an example of stability in the Hispanic artistic milieu.
Bermudo also recently celebrated her return to Telemundo as a guest star on shows such as Hoy Día, Acceso Total and En Casa con Telemundo, marking a new chapter in her career.
