Inter Miami defeated Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1 on Saturday with goals from Jordi Alba, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in the Argentine star’s return from injury, while LAFC, with Son Heung-min making his first start, defeated New England Revolution 2-0.

Messi, who had not played since he was injured on August 2 in the match against Mexican side Necaxa in the Leagues Cup, came on in the second half after starting the match as a substitute.

Argentina’s Lionel Messi gave his team the lead with a goal from outside the box in the 84th minute, when the score was 1-1.
