The Mexican National Soccer Team faces a significant setback prior to the 2025 Gold Cup, confirming the absence of two of its most outstanding strikers: Hirving “Chucky” Lozano and Henry Martin, due to muscle injuries in their left hamstrings.
According to the Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF), Hirving Lozano, a San Diego FC player, suffered a muscle injury in his left hamstring during a recent MLS match. Medical studies sent by his club confirmed the seriousness of the injury, preventing him from joining the national team.
Henry Martin is out
Meanwhile, Henry Martín, forward of Club América, was evaluated by the medical staff of the Mexican National Team in Mexico City.
He was diagnosed with a muscle tear in the left hamstring.
In coordination with his club, it was determined that Martin will return to his team to continue his rehabilitation.
Both players had been called up by coach Javier Aguirre on May 26 to participate in the preparation matches and the Gold Cup, to be held from June 14 to July 6 in the United States and Canada.

La Selección Mexicana forma parte del Grupo A en la Copa Oro 2025, junto a República Dominicana, Surinam y Costa Rica.
El equipo debutará el 14 de junio contra República Dominicana, enfrentará a Surinam el 18 de junio y cerrará la fase de grupos ante Costa Rica el 22 de junio.
