For the first time in history, the NASCAR Cup Series will hold a qualifying race outside the United States, and it will be in the heart of Mexico City, June 13-15, 2025. This historic day, called NASCAR Mexico City Weekend, will transform the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez into the epicenter of international motorsports, bringing together the main categories of the organization: NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Mexico Series.

The official names of the races not only provide identity, but also reflect national pride and a strong connection to Mexican culture. The main race on Sunday 15, corresponding to the Cup Series, will be called Viva Mexico 250, a name that exalts the passion, energy and pride of Mexican motorsports fans. For its part, the Xfinity Series will run on Saturday 14 with the title The Chilango 150, in allusion to the vibrant spirit and unique character of Mexico City and its inhabitants.

Meanwhile, the two NASCAR Mexico Series competitions will be named Pedro Rodriguez 60 and Ricardo Rodriguez 60.

This is a tribute to the legendary racing brothers, key figures in Mexican motorsports.

Pedro Rodriguez, in fact, was the first Mexican to compete in the NASCAR Cup Series in 1959.

An achievement that paved the way for new generations of national pilots.

The number in each name represents the miles to be covered in each competition:

250 for the Cup, 150 for the Xfinity and 60 for the Mexican series, giving even more symbolism and meaning to the format of the event.

In addition to the relevance of the main event in CDMX, the official debut of Mexican driver María José “Majo” Rodríguez in the NASCAR Mexico Series also stands out.

Its debut is scheduled for June 1, 2025, on the fifth date of the championship, to be played in Querétaro.

With the number #77 of the TAME Racing team, Majo will compete in the Challenge category, supported by brands such as Black Tower Group and Seguros Quálitas.

With a solid national background and international experience, Majo has prepared intensively for this crucial step in her career.
