Portugal’s Paulinho confirmed himself as the best scorer in Mexican soccer in the last year and a half, as champion Toluca secured a 2-3 victory over Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas’ Pumas UNAM in the Mexican Clausura.
In the continuation of matchday nine, Jesús Angulo, Diego Barbosa and Paulinho left Toluca as the only undefeated team in the championship, while Paraguay’s Robert Morales and Colombian Álvaro Angulo scored for Pumas.
Toluca overcomes Pumas

The Pumas took the lead with a penalty kick converted by Morales in the 29th minute.
But in the 37th minute, the South American let in a goal with an open goal and it was the Diablos who equalized seconds later with a left-footed shot from Angulo.
In the second half, Toluca pressed, but Pumas regained the lead in the 63rd minute with a left-footed shot by Angulo off a pass from Uriel Antuna.
When Pumas were at their best, Toluca confirmed their status as the best team in Mexico and turned the score around.
In the 73rd minute, Barbosa equalized with a shot from outside the area and in the 78th minute, Paulinho scored with a header assisted by Jesús Gallardo.
