Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) put on a historic performance on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, by thrashing Real Madrid 4-0 in the second semifinal of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. With this victory, the French team coached by Luis Enrique advanced to the final of the renewed tournament, where they will face Chelsea FC, who previously eliminated Fluminense.

From the opening whistle, PSG imposed conditions on the field, taking advantage of defensive errors by the white team. The first goal was scored in the 6th minute, when Fabián Ruiz pushed into the back of the net a loose ball in the area after a play by Ousmane Dembélé. Three minutes later, Dembélé capitalized on another mistake, this time by Antonio Rüdiger, and coolly slotted past Courtois to make it 2-0.

The Spanish team, led by Xabi Alonso, never managed to settle on the field.

On 24 minutes, a great collective move by PSG ended in a deep pass to Achraf Hakimi, who assisted Ruiz for his second goal of the night, making it 3-0 before the break.

In the second half, PSG maintained total control of the match.

Although Madrid tried to react with timid advances from Vinicius Jr. and shots from Kylian Mbappé -who faced his former team-, none managed to trouble a solid Gianluigi Donnarumma.

In the 88th minute, Bradley Barcola slipped a perfect pass to Gonçalo Ramos, who made it 4-0.

A brilliant performance that left PSG as heavy favorites to lift their first world title.
