On November 26, news that shook both the business world and the beauty pageant universe was released: Raúl Rocha Cantú, co-owner of Miss Universe 2025 and businessman from Monterrey, is being investigated by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
According to the institution’s official statement, the investigation involves alleged crimes related to drug trafficking, arms trafficking and illegal fuel trafficking, also known as huachicol.
The revelation comes at a particularly sensitive time for the Miss Universe organization, which is already facing accusations of alleged lack of transparency after the coronation of Mexican Fatima Bosch.

Hours after the information was disseminated, Raúl Rocha issued a statement to publicly clarify his legal situation. In the document, the businessman emphasized that, according to the FGR itself, there is no arrest warrant against him.
He emphasized that he has presented the necessary elements to demonstrate that he has not incurred in any illicit activity.
He also expressed his willingness to continue collaborating with Mexican authorities: “My conduct has been – and will continue to be – guided by absolute respect for the rule of law and the conviction that every person must respond transparently before the law.
Rocha also used the press release to emphasize that, throughout his business career, he has conducted himself with integrity and a firm commitment to the country’s economic development.
FGR’s position on Raúl Rocha, Miss Universe owner
The Attorney General’s Office confirmed in a press release that the investigation against Rocha is active. The investigation, opened on November 29, 2024, is part of a larger case related to organized crime, in which, according to Buzzy, at least 13 people have been detained.
Regarding Rocha Cantú, the document states: “In the corresponding procedure, fundamental data is being obtained that will allow the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office to continue and deepen this investigation”.
The agency emphasized that the businessman’s legal situation will be defined only when there is solid and ratified evidence. Once the pending arrest warrants are executed and the corresponding hearings are held before federal judges, the information may be made public in a precise manner.

The leak about the Rocha investigation comes just as Fatima Bosch’s recent win as Miss Universe 2025 has been mired in controversy. Omar Harfouch, one of the judges who resigned days before the final, publicly denounced that the pageant had been “fixed”, pointing out alleged business ties between Raul Rocha and Bernardo Bosch, father of the young Mexican.
Both Rocha and the Bosch family have categorically denied these versions, describing them as unfounded speculation.
For now, Raul Rocha remains at liberty and without a court order against him. His official position insists on transparency, collaboration with the authorities and the defense of his reputation. The FGR, for its part, continues to gather information to determine whether or not there are elements that justify an eventual indictment.
The combination of the legal investigation and the tensions generated by Miss Universe 2025 keeps one of the most influential businessmen linked to the pageant at the center of the international conversation.
