Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro, one of the most influential figures in urban music and Latin pop in the last decade, is living a very special moment in his career.
On September 26, 2025 he officially released his new studio album titled Cosa Nuestra: Capítulo 0, a project that functions as a spin-off of his previous hit album Saturno, but marks a return to his cultural roots and traditional Caribbean rhythms.
This new musical chapter has been received with enthusiasm by his fans around the world and by specialized critics, highlighting the artist’s effort to reconnect with the musical history of Puerto Rico.
To celebrate the arrival of this very personal album, Rauw Alejandro surprised everyone with a post on Instagram that quickly went viral. The artist shared a gallery of two photos in which he appears completely naked on a tropical beach, covering himself only with a coconut.

The post was accompanied by a brief description: a simple “shhh” next to the emoji of a coconut, a gesture that aroused curiosity and laughter among fans and industry colleagues.
Some of the most notable comments came from other Puerto Rican artists: Baby Rasta joked, “Mera, what happened there, they stole your underwear,” while the iconic Ivy Queen praised the witty Caribbean wink: “Blessed be the palm that gave that coconut, because such fruit could only come from a masterpiece of nature.”
Fans weren’t far behind either, leaving messages like “Now without the coconuts” or “I didn’t know I needed this photo until I saw it.”
Rauw Alejandro: A Return to Caribbean Roots
Beyond the humorous gesture in networks, Rauw Alejandro explained that Cosa Nuestra: Chapter 0 is a project that was born from a process of personal and cultural search.
In an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the Todo de ti singer revealed that after the release of Saturno – an album with futuristic and electronic sounds – he felt the need to look back and reconnect with the traditional music of his homeland:
“I had this feeling three years ago, after Saturn, which was a futuristic sound. I wanted to do the opposite: something elegant, old school. That’s when the Cosa Nuestra journey really began. Through that journey I found so many things, so many sounds, that it was impossible to put it all in one project.”
The artist even said that he attended classes at the University of Puerto Rico to study the musical and cultural history of the island and to be able to integrate it authentically into his new proposal.

The result of this process is an album impregnated with the traditional rhythms of the Caribbean, where you can appreciate genres such as the Puerto Rican bomba, plena and salsa, fused with the contemporary aesthetics that characterizes Rauw.
With Cosa Nuestra: Chapter 0, the artist seeks to show that urban music can dialogue with cultural roots and pay tribute to the sounds that have defined Puerto Rico’s identity internationally.
The release of this album and his peculiar way of celebrating it consolidate Rauw Alejandro as a versatile artist, capable of adapting to different periods and styles without losing authenticity.
With this proposal, the singer not only reaffirms his leadership in the global scene, but also positions himself as a contemporary ambassador of Caribbean music, demonstrating that the future of the urban genre can coexist harmoniously with its roots.
Undoubtedly, Cosa Nuestra: Chapter 0 represents a new artistic era for Rauw Alejandro, marked by respect for his cultural heritage and the search for sounds that transcend passing fads.
