Spanish coach Domenec Torrent’s Rayados de Monterrey defeated Guatemala’s Xelajú 2-0 on Wednesday to book their place in the round of 16 of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Iker Fimbres and Argentina’s Lucas Ocampos, on a penalty kick, gave the victory to the Mexicans, who won the series 3-1.
Monterrey dominated without clarity
In the first half hour of the match, Monterrey Rayados kept the ball and domination in the middle of the field.

In the 83rd minute, Ocampos converted a penalty and confirmed the victory for Los Regios.
In the round of 16, the Rayados will face the winner of the Cruz Azul-Vancouver FC series, which is 3-0 in favor of the Mexicans and will be decided tonight.
