The Philadelphia Eagles won 17-20 over the Chiefs in Kansas City on Sunday, September 14 in what was a rematch of the last Super Bowl, also won by Jalen Hurts and company.
Seven months after Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, in which the Eagles overwhelmed the Chiefs 40-22, the two teams met again for a matchup that was more even, but with the same outcome.

It is the first time since 2014 that the Chiefs have opened the season with two straight losses, after falling last week in Brazil to the Los Angeles Chargers.
It was Andy Reid’s second season in charge of the team.
The Eagles (2-0) opened the scoring with a Saquon Barkley touchdown on a 13-yard run in the final minute of the first quarter.
Jake Elliott kicked the extra point for the 0-7 Philadelphia lead.
The Chiefs (0-2) responded in the second quarter with a 58-yard field goal conversion by Harrison Butker.
And then with a Patrick Mahomes touchdown on a 13-yard run, which made the score 10-7.
It was a first half dominated by the defenses, with the offenses stalled, in which the Eagles needed a 58-yard field goal by Jake Elliott, with time running out, to go into halftime with a 10-10 tie.
Elliott gave the Eagles the lead back on their first series of the second half with another field goal, this time a 51-yarder, to make it 13-10.
Rookie Andrew Mukuba made the key play of the game when he intercepted a Mahomes pass intended for Travis Kelce on the Chiefs’ touchdown line and returned it 41 yards, which started the Eagles’ offense.
That drive ended with another touchdown for the Eagles. On fourth-and-goal from one yard out, Jalen Hurts pushed into the end zone, and Elliott kicked the extra point, making the score 10-20.
The Chiefs were able to close the gap on a Tyquan Thornton touchdown after catching a 49-yard pass from Mahomes, playing against the clock.
The score was 17-20 with three minutes to play.
With a lot of skill, the Eagles advanced just enough to consume the remaining time of the game.
Jalen Hurts completed 15 of 22 passes for a total of 101 yards. In addition, the Eagles quarterback scored the touchdown that gave his team the victory.
For his part, Patrick Mahomes completed 16 of 29 passes, including a touchdown, for a total of 187 yards, but suffered an interception that cost the Chiefs dearly.
And that’s how the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs.
