Spanish singer Rosalía continues to leave her mark during her surprise visit to Argentina, where this weekend she starred in two moments loaded with cultural and emotional symbolism: a private meeting with legendary musician Charly García and a visit to the church where Pope Francis, who died on April 21, 2025, was baptized.

Her visit to Buenos Aires, which was not previously announced, has generated great interest among local fans and the Hispanic community in the United States, where Rosalía is one of the most influential artists of the last decade.

The first highlight occurred on Friday night at the Faena Hotel, one of the most emblematic establishments in Buenos Aires.

There, Rosalía, 33, met with Charly García, an absolute icon of Argentine rock and a key figure in Spanish-language music.

The 74-year-old artist shared a photo of the encounter on his social networks, where they are seen sitting on a sofa, exchanging musical gifts.

In the image, Charly holds a copy of LUX, Rosalía’s most recent album, signed by her with a special dedication: “For Charly, the legend”.

The gesture not only symbolizes the mutual admiration between the two musicians, but also represents a bridge between generations and musical styles that have profoundly marked Latin music.

According to Argentine media, Charly García gave the Spanish singer an autographed copy of his emblematic album La hija de la lágrima (1993), considered one of the most important works of his career.

She also visited the parish where Pope Francis was baptized

The second significant moment occurred on Saturday morning, when Rosalia visited the parish of St. Charles and the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, located in the neighborhood of Almagro.

This temple is recognized as one of the most beautiful in Buenos Aires for its Italian neo-Romanesque architecture and for its profound historical value: Jorge Mario Bergoglio, known worldwide as Pope Francis, was baptized there.

Parishioners present at the site confirmed to EFE that Rosalia walked through the church in a discreet and respectful manner.

The singer spent several minutes in the chapel of the Virgin Auxiliadora, where she prayed in silence.

She also visited the baptistery where Pope Francis was baptized in 1936 and took several photographs of the interior of the church, attracted by its beauty and religious significance.

For Hispanics in the United States, especially those who follow the life of Pope Francis closely or feel a strong connection to the Latino Catholic community, Rosalia’s visit here represents a culturally sensitive gesture.

The death of the pontiff in April 2025 continues to be a recent event that marked millions of believers on the continent.

This visit to Argentina has been characterized by spontaneity.

On Thursday, Rosalia attended the concert of Cindy Cats, a local emerging band, showing her continued interest in supporting young musical projects.

The following day, he gave an interview and a brief presentation on a streaming channel, where he performed some fragments of his repertoire.

Later, he accompanied Argentine rapper Trueno on a tour of the Boca Juniors stadium, one of the most emblematic sports venues in Latin America.
