Spanish singer Rosalía was once again in the spotlight on U.S. television after delivering an emotional performance of ‘La Perla’, one of the main tracks from her new album ‘Lux’, during the popular late-night program The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Although she had been interviewed on previous occasions, Sunday night’s was the first time she performed musically on the program, consolidating once again her presence on the international scene. Accompanied by a full orchestra, Rosalía brought to the set a sound proposal different from that of her previous eras, reaffirming the musical evolution that characterizes Lux, a project that the singer has described as her most experimental and ambitious work.

A theatrical show that gave people something to talk about

In addition to her vocal performance of ‘La Perla’, Rosalía surprised with a theatrical staging designed especially for the occasion.

The artist appeared on stage in a wedding dress, accompanied by a large wedding cake as the central element of the scenery, in a montage that visually evoked the bridal aesthetic.

Although Rosalía did not explain the meaning of the concept during the program, in social networks many interpreted the performance as a possible allusion to the end of her engagement to singer Rauw Alejandro, who was her partner until 2023.

‘La Perla’, one of the most talked about tracks on the album, has been associated by some fans with that personal stage, although the singer has never publicly confirmed that the song is dedicated to him.

Before the presentation, Jimmy Fallon opened the interview by congratulating the Catalan singer for the impact of her new album, which in its week of release broke streaming records on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music in several countries, in addition to positioning itself among the best-selling albums in Spain and Latin America.

Rosalía, dressed in an elegant white suit, explained that Lux represents an important artistic turn in her career, as it is inspired by classical music.

He revealed that it took him three years to develop it because he had “very clear ideas” about the sound he wanted to achieve.

The artist also confessed that, although she feels confident in the studio, she always gets nervous before sharing her work with the public:

Puede parecer que tengo mucha seguridad, pero siempre me pongo nerviosa cuando sé que la gente va a escucharlo

Mention of his participation in ‘Euphoria’.

One of the most talked about moments of the interview was when Jimmy Fallon made reference to the next season of ‘Euphoria’, scheduled to premiere in spring 2026, where Rosalia is expected to play a new character.

Although she avoided giving details, the singer acknowledged that the project involved a great challenge and joked that she had to “split her head in two” to be able to live up to it.

Then, demonstrating her connection to the roots of flamenco, the artist invited Jimmy Fallon – and the audience present – to follow different clapping patterns.

He recalled that in Jerez de la Frontera, in southern Spain, these palmas are a natural part of the local musical culture: “There they do it naturally and beautifully”.

The moment became one of the most viral of the night, especially among the Latino audience.

Sings in 13 languages and studied at Duolingo

Jimmy Fallon also noted that Rosalía sings in 13 languages on the Lux album.

She explained that she learned much of the pronunciation through courses on Duolingo, in addition to collaborating with translators to perfect linguistic details.

Lux, she said, brings together stories of women from different cultures, which required meticulous work in each language.

One of the facts that surprised the audience the most was when Rosalia told that preparing the aria ‘Mio Cristo Piange Diamanti’ took her a full year.

The final interpretation of ‘La Perla

Before saying goodbye to the popular show, Rosalia challenged Fallon to sing a part of the chorus of ‘La Perla’.

After an amusing moment between the two, the artist took to the stage accompanied by an orchestra, offering a presentation that combined vocal technique, classical sensitivity and the contemporary stamp that characterizes her music.

Success continues for ‘Lux

Since its release, Lux has topped streaming charts in several countries and has surpassed the initial records of previous albums such as Motomami and El Mal Querer. Singles from the album have entered the main global charts, reinforcing Rosalía’s international impact in 2025.
