Heung-Min Son experienced an emotional return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, his home for more than a decade and where he reached the elite of European soccer. The South Korean striker, who now plays for LAFC in the MLS, received a special tribute from the English club, which celebrated his legacy and his Europa League title before he continued his adventure in the United States.

During the visit, Son was reunited with former teammates and friends, including Argentine world champion defender Cristian “Cuti” Romero. The two shared a relaxed moment that quickly went viral after Tottenham released a video in which Son joked about the MLS Cup won by Lionel Messi with Inter Miami.

Laughing, Son commented that he had “let Messi win” the MLS Cup 2025.

Before topping it off with a statement that fired up Los Angeles fans:

“Next year it’s our turn to be up at LAFC.”

While that phrase was said in a humorous tone, it also reflects LAFC’s competitive drive.

A franchise that has been a protagonist in recent years and is looking to regain the championship in 2026 with Son as one of its stars.
