Taylor Swift has once again proved that her generosity is as powerful as her music. This time, the artist made a $100,000 donation through the GoFundMe platform in favor of little fan Lilah Smoot, a 2-year-old girl who is fighting a very rare and aggressive type of stage 4 brain cancer.
Lilah was diagnosed when she was just 18 months old, after suffering a seizure that revealed a brain tumor. From that moment on, her life has become a constant battle between hospitals, chemotherapy, specialized treatments and frequent trips to access therapies.
Lilah’s mother, Katelynn Smoot, shared on social media that during her pregnancy she listened non-stop to Taylor Swift’s music, and that her daughter was born already a “mini Swiftie.” In one of the viral videos titled Stand with Lilah, the little girl appears watching Taylor videos on an iPad and points to her saying, “She’s my friend.”

In that clip, the mother jokingly wrote, “This could be my fault,” referring to Lilah’s early obsession with Taylor’s music and the fact that they had originally intended to name her Willow after a Taylor song. Ultimately, they opted for the name Lilah.
The GoFundMe campaign, active since March, sought to cover the high costs of Lilah’s treatment, including chemotherapy, proton radiation and stem cell therapy.
Taylor Swift’s support for Lilah
On October 17, 2025, Taylor Swift donated $100,000 to Lilah’s campaign. In the message accompanying the contribution, she wrote: “Sending a huge hug to my friend Lilah! Love, Taylor”.
This gesture enabled the family to not only reach their fundraising goal, but to far surpass it.
The mother’s reaction was emotional: “Is this real life? Thank you so much, Taylor Swift. I’m in shock.” She added that thanks to the donation they will be able to focus fully on being with her daughter without worrying so much about medical expenses.

Taylor’s fan community also responded: many made donations of $13, the number Taylor considers significant, in solidarity with Lilah and her family.
For Lilah’s family, this contribution is a great financial release at a critical time. As they stated, it allows them to focus on the child, on being together as a family and on her recovery, rather than being overwhelmed by constant costs and travel.
Taylor Swift, for her part, reaffirms with this type of actions her humanitarian commitment, demonstrating that her influence goes beyond the stage and the music charts.
