The Venezuelan Interior Minister, Diosdado Cabello, assured on Monday that his country will accept “all the international help” available to face what he described as an “aggression” by the United States, whose military deployment in the Caribbean Sea is denounced by Chavism as a “threat” that seeks to bring about a “regime change” in the South American nation.

“If we have not publicly called on the peoples of the world to organize themselves to defend our country, I take advantage and I do it from this instance, that from anywhere in the world, here is Venezuela that is being attacked, and all the help they can give us is welcome. Here you will be received as brothers and sisters in life”, said the Minister.

In the weekly press conference of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), broadcast by the state-owned Venezuelan Television (VTV), the Secretary General of the party assured that “military forces of this America” have “sent messages” in which, he said, they offer their support to the country, without specifying from which nations.

“That is what we have received from military forces of countries not necessarily with governments close to us, (…) so the native peoples and the military and police forces of other countries will come to Venezuela to support this homeland”, he said.

The Chavista Executive assures that it has also “received letters from several indigenous peoples” of America who are “willing to fight” to defend Venezuela, for which reason President Nicolás Maduro ordered this Sunday to form “militia brigades” of these groups to go to the country to defend it “if necessary”.

Cabello reiterated this Monday that the nation “has been preparing for any situation”, and in this sense highlighted the “partial mobilization by state” of the defense plan called ‘Independencia 200’, which since last Wednesday has been activated in the coastal regions of Carabobo, La Guaira, Aragua, Falcón, Zulia, Anzoátegui and Monagas, as well as in Bolívar (south, bordering Brazil), in order to continue with the preparation of civilians, police and military.

This plan, he said, also aims to protect gas stations, basic service facilities, transportation units, schools and hospitals to “ensure their operation in case of conflict”.

“And, of course, the Militia is deployed with the secret plans that the Militia has for mobilization, equipment, transportation and personnel,” he added.

Last September, Maduro assured that “Latin American and Caribbean militaries” have told him that they support the defense of Venezuela, in a context marked by what the president denounced as a “military threat” by the U.S., which defends its deployment as an operation against alleged drug trafficking from the South American nation.
