On July 8, 2025, a vehicle rented by Beyoncé’s team was burglarized in Atlanta, in the Krog Street Market parking lot near Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The car belonged to choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue, who returned an hour later to find the rear window broken and two suitcases missing.

According to the police report, in addition to personal belongings such as laptops, clothing, sunglasses and AirPods Max headphones, five USB drives and hard drives containing Beyoncé’s unreleased music, watermarked tunes, future performance plans and recordings, and set lists from the “Cowboy Carter” tour were taken.

The Atlanta Police Department issued an arrest warrant for an as-yet unidentified suspect.

Investigators collected fingerprints in the vehicle, reviewed surveillance video and triggered alerts on electronic devices, such as AirPods, which led to the location of signals linked to a red 2025 Hyundai Elantra.

No formal arrests have been made at this time, but the case remains open and police continue to gather evidence.

The theft occurred right in the middle of Beyoncé’s final performances in Atlanta, and although the show was not stopped, the incident raised concerns about the security of highly sensitive material.

The “Cowboy Carter” tour, which will conclude in Las Vegas in July, now faces an additional risk: unauthorized leaks of unreleased songs.

In addition, the incident highlights the vulnerability of artists and their equipment during tours.

A police representative recalled that more than 7,000 vehicle burglaries were recorded in Atlanta during 2024.

For the Hispanic community, this incident offers several lessons:

Protect your creative work: sensitive material should be transported with caution and never left in plain sight.

Use device trackers: technology such as “Find My” helped locate key clues to the theft, a useful resource in the personal sphere as well.

Know your work environment: places with a higher incidence of theft require preventive measures for both individuals and work teams.
