On the morning of June 19, 2025, federal immigration agents, identified by SUVs and vans, appeared in the vicinity of Dodger Stadium in Elysian Park.

As reported by the Dodgers team, the agents requested permission to enter the parking lots, but were denied access. Despite the incident, the game against the San Diego Padres, scheduled for that night, went on as planned.

Shortly thereafter, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) clarified that the vehicles belonged to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and that their visit was not related to ICE operations or linked to the Dodgers team.

For its part, ICE denied that its agents had been in the stadium, reaffirming that the presence was brief and unrelated to the sports environment.

Days ago, the team has been criticized for not speaking out on immigration raids in Southern California, an issue that directly affects much of its Hispanic base.

Media outlets have reported that artists such as Becky G and Nezza have reproached the club for its institutional silence, while baseball player Kiké Hernández has raised his voice in support of the Latino community.

In the face of the pressure, the Dodgers are expected to announce on June 19 an initiative to help organizations that support immigrants affected by the raids.

The program has not yet been detailed, but it is understood to be a response to social demands.

After the arrival of the federal vehicles, protesters and media gathered in front of the stadium, demanding transparency and rejecting any ICE presence at the site.

It is estimated that more than 100 people attended the scene before the agents left around noon.

What this means for the Hispanic community in the U.S.

Protecting their space: The Dodgers defend their territory, denying access to federal agents without an institutional order.

Expectation of real support: The community is attentive to the team’s response, beyond simple statements.

Effective social pressure: Latino voices brought political and community pressure to bear, forcing the team to act responsibly.

ICE (or CBP) attempted to enter Dodger Stadium this morning, but was turned away by the club.

DHS said it was not an anti-immigrant operation, and ICE denied involvement.

The episode occurred amid criticism of the team’s quiet stance on the raids.

On the same day, the Dodgers are expected to present a plan to support migrant communities.

Protesters gathered in front of the stadium to monitor and denounce the situation.
