After almost two decades away from television, Yadhira Carrillo returns to the small screen with the telenovela Los Hilos del Pasado, a TelevisaUnivision production headed by renowned producer José Alberto “El Güero” Castro. Filming has already begun in Miami’s popular arts district of Wynwood, where Carrillo was spotted filming some of the first scenes of this project that will officially mark her comeback.

For the actress, who in the past starred in melodramas such as Amarte es mi pecado, La otra and Esmeralda, this new stage is not only a professional challenge, but also a sign of affection towards the public that has followed her faithfully over the years.

Yadhira explained that she made the decision to step away from telenovelas for 17 years because she needed a break after a very intense career. “I had been working non-stop for many years. In these 17 years, Mr. José Alberto Castro’s production always did me the honor of inviting me to his telenovelas, but I couldn’t, I couldn’t,” she confessed in an interview.

The actress shared that during this time she dedicated herself to other personal and professional projects. Among them, her store Momentos by Yadhira, a business focused on fashion and organization of social events, particularly large-scale weddings, where she came to design and coordinate celebrations with more than a thousand guests.

After several attempts by producer “El Güero” Castro to convince her to return, Carrillo finally agreed to join Los Hilos del Pasado. She explained that the proposal was so solid and attractive that she could not turn it down:

“This time I really wanted to start new projects, to do other things, to work because an actress, yes, yes, she misses. Then this project came along and I really liked it”.

What motivated her the most was the way in which the production made her feel special and valued: “When they make you feel that you are the ideal person for that character, the ego that we all have as people also comes into play; in other words, ‘they are interested in me and they want me’, and you feel very nice”.

Carrillo also highlighted the reception she received on her return to Televisa, the company with which she built a large part of her career: “To enter again and to be received in such a beautiful, affectionate way has been warmth for the heart and soul. A lot of feeling, a lot of love, a lot of affection.

Yadhira’s return not only generates expectation in Mexico, but also in the Hispanic community in the United States, where TelevisaUnivision’s telenovelas continue to have great reach. For many viewers who grew up watching her in iconic productions, her reappearance is an event that stirs both nostalgia and excitement.

Los Hilos del Pasado is based on a story that has already been successful in previous versions, which for Carrillo represents a challenge but also a guarantee of connection with the audience. “We are talking about something that has been done before in other forms, and that has always been a great success, and because I liked it a lot,” he noted.

With an international cast and locations in Miami, the telenovela is shaping up to be one of the strongest premieres of the season. Expectations lie not only in the plot, but also in the return of an actress whose absence left its mark on the genre.
