In 2025, three decades after the tragic murder of Selena Quintanilla, an unpublished anecdote was revealed involving Mexican journalist Pati Chapoy and Yolanda Saldivar, the woman convicted of the crime.

The failed meeting in Texas
Pati Chapoy, known for her show“Ventaneando“, traveled to San Antonio, Texas, with the intention of interviewing Yolanda Saldívar in prison.
Accompanied by Martha Figueroa, they were picked up by Saldívar’s lawyer and taken to the prison.
However, upon arrival, they were informed that Saldívar had decided not to grant the interview.
