Since 2025, Salvador Zerboni has managed to show a very different side to what the public was used to seeing in telenovelas.
Although his television image is usually linked to rough, intense characters and, many times, antagonists who make the protagonists suffer, in the reality shows in which he has participated he has presented himself as “the villain with a good heart”. This transformation has generated empathy among viewers, who have discovered a much more human and sensitive side of the actor.
A clear example of this new perception occurred during his participation in Top Chef VIP, where he starred in one of the most emotional moments of the show when he burst into tears after receiving a surprise visit from his parents during one of the final challenges. That scene showed a vulnerable Zerboni, grateful and deeply connected to his family.
Salvador Zerboni: A promise to show his tender side
When he joined the reality show ¡Apostarías por mí? in which he competes with his partner Marcela Ruiz, the actor said that the public would have the opportunity to get to know his most loving and sensitive side. According to his own words, he wanted to break with the stereotype of the “tough guy” that has marked his acting career and show that, outside the recording forums, he is a close, empathetic and emotional person.
His first great moment of tenderness occurred recently, during a dynamic renewal of vows, in which he offered a speech full of feelings and ended up in a long embrace with Marcela, touching both the participants and the audience.

A confession marked by pain
However, the most shocking moment came days later, when Zerboni experienced a deeply emotional scene with dramatic overtones. “Who would have thought they were going to see these beasts crying,” she said in a breathy voice as she shared a story she had kept private until now: the death of her brother.
The actor had been very reserved about this part of his personal life, and little was known about his family environment. The confession came when he sat down to talk with Beta and José Medina about the physical demands of one of the weekly challenges, which pushed them to the limit. That context opened the door to an unexpected outlet.
Between sobs, Zerboni expressed: “Life is hard, but you have to survive… oh little brother, wherever you are in heaven I love you, I miss you”. For approximately six minutes, he could not hold back the tears as he recalled the recent loss of his brother Álex, revealing a grief that he has not yet been able to fully process.
“I try to distract myself, but I still can’t assimilate it,” he confessed, showing that the pain is still very present in his daily life. The scene moved his colleagues and the audience, consolidating the image of a sensitive man who, beyond the characters he plays, faces his own emotional battles.
