Fher Olvera, lead singer of Mexican band Maná, and British artist Dua Lipa sealed their musical bond on Friday by including ‘Oye Mi Amor’ (1992), a classic of the pop rock band, in the new live album ‘Dua Lipa: Live from Mexico’, which was released in the country on May 22 on digital platforms.
“Singing ‘Oye Mi Amor’ with a great artist of international caliber like Dua Lipa was something very special. It is an emblematic song for Maná and for our fans around the world; it has been a fundamental part of our history as a band,” Olvera said in a statement shared with EFE.
This collaboration, which was conceived during the artist’s successful ‘Radical Optimism’ tour in Mexico City, places the singer from Puebla as the only guest on this project, which also highlights the strength of the Spanish-language music promoted by bands such as Maná, founded in 1986.
For the composer, the evolution of this song is an example of how Maná “continues to cross generations and languages”, so “to hear it resonate with those who did not grow up speaking Spanish is a source of immense pride for us as Mexicans and for all Latin music”.

Of the 21 songs on the album, ‘Oye Mi Amor’ is the only track in Spanish and, therefore, the one that does not belong to Dua Lipa’s official catalog.
With more than 92 shows, the ‘Radical Optimism’ world tour highlighted Dua Lipa’s more polyglot side, as she performed covers of songs in eight languages, including Spanish, which shone alongside Olvera’s voice on the night of December 2, 2025.
In fluent Spanish, the singer sang on stage at the GNP Stadium: “Oye mi amor, no me digas que no, y vamos juntando las almas”, the chorus of this classic included in ‘¿Dónde jugarán los niños?’, the band’s third studio album, released in 1992.
Dua Lipa: Live from Mexico’ was also presented as a feature film in which the artist shows the best moments of her three successful presentations in the Mexican capital, which included the interpretation of: ‘One Kiss’, ‘Levitating’ or ‘Training Season’.
In addition to this unique collaboration, reported Agencia EFE, Maná will headline, along with Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, J Balvin and Los Ángeles Azules, the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Mexico City’s Banorte Stadium on June 11.
