The New York Knicks sealed a 4-0 sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday with a 93-130 thrashing to claim their first East title since 1999 and advance to the NBA Finals in search of their first ring since 1973.
The Knicks now await their title opponent, who will emerge from the matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs, in an extremely tough Western Finals with the series tied 2-2.
Knicks sweep the playoffs

The Knicks are coming into the Finals after a near perfect playoffs with 12 wins and only two losses.
Both in the first round against the Atlanta Hawks.
It has been more than a month since they lost their last game and since then they have won eleven consecutive games.
After the 4-2 win over the Hawks, the Knicks have swept the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cavaliers.
The only asterisk for the Knicks is that, despite finishing third in the regular season, they have only played against opponents with a worse record, always with home-court advantage.
They will face a rival with a better record against the Thunder or Spurs (Filed under: Knicks advance to the NBA Finals).
End of agony

This Monday, the Knicks humiliated the Cavaliers to send them on vacation, in the same manner as the Hawks and 76ers:
With a thrashing and with the rival pavilion packed with New York fans, including the celebrity entourage led by Spike Lee and Timothée Chalamet.
The Cavs only held on for half a quarter.
A 0-20 run between the end of the first quarter and the start of the second put the New York Knicks up 26-50.
When the Cavaliers got within just 16 points after halftime, the Knicks responded with another 0-12 run to close the door on any comeback attempt.
And in the last quarter, with the Cavaliers having nothing left to do, they went on another 0-12 run to take a 76-117 lead.
Shortly before reaching its maximum lead of +45. A true hurricane (Filed under: Knicks advance to the NBA Finals).

Towns and Brunson lead nightmare finish for Cleveland

Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds, OG Anunoby added 17 points, Landry Shamet 16 and Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges 15 each.
For the Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell finished with 31 points, but Evan Mobley’s 15 points and James Harden’s 12 points – who came to Cleveland this winter with the sole goal of competing for a ring this year – weren’t enough to withstand the gale.
It was a series that the Cavaliers lost in Game 1 at Madison Square Garden.
When they squandered 22 points in the last quarter. From then on, it was all agony.
The Cavaliers were returning to an East Finals for the first time since LeBron James’ departure for Los Angeles in 2018.
This after beating the Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons in seven games, but the energy went out of them at the Garden (Filed under: Knicks advance to the NBA Finals).
