U.S. President Donald Trump issued a direct order to arrest anyone who throws rocks, bricks or any object at official vehicles carrying immigration agents during operations across the country.

The statement was published Friday on his social network Truth Social, after a video circulated showing protesters throwing rocks at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vans in the midst of a protest during a raid in Camarillo, California, on July 10.

“I fully authorize ICE to protect themselves, just as they protect the public,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“I never again want to see a vehicle attacked with a law enforcement officer on board!” added the US president.

The raid that triggered this presidential order occurred at Glass House Farms, one of the largest cannabis farms in California.

There ICE agents, accompanied by the National Guard, carried out a massive operation that ended in arrests, tear gas and riots.

According to witnesses, tension increased when demonstrators threw objects at official vehicles.

In response, federal agents fired projectiles and fired tear gas to disperse the crowd, which included family members of farmworkers, activists and local residents.

President Trump called those who threw rocks “unclean.”

In addition, he said he gave precise instructions to Kristi Noem, the current secretary of Homeland Security, and Tom Homan, head of the National Border Security Council, that any agent who is attacked must stop the vehicle and arrest those responsible “using all necessary means.”

Direct order for ICE and law enforcement

The presidential directive adds to a series of executive actions in 2025 that seek to strengthen immigration enforcement and protect federal agents from what the administration considers to be organized attacks during operations.

The measure has been criticized by civil rights organizations that fear excessive use of force and criminalization of protest.

However, the White House insists that it is to ensure the safety of its agents and public order.

At the same time, the FBI announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification of a person who allegedly pointed a firearm at the agents during the confrontation in Camarillo.

According to the Bureau, this is a serious threat and they are analyzing videos and testimonies to locate the suspect.

“Violence against federal agents will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” said the FBI spokesperson in Los Angeles.

Trump’s directive comes against a backdrop of growing tension between the migrant community and federal agencies.

Various organizations have denounced that the raids are affecting not only people in an irregular situation, but also legal residents and citizens who share spaces with them.

Groups such as CHIRLA and United We Dream have issued community alerts so that people know their rights during interactions with immigration agents and avoid confrontations that could result in arrest or deportation.
