The Mexican community experienced a moment of pride and emotion at Yankee Stadium, where singer Belinda was a special guest at the first game of the series between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays, while baseball player Jonathan Aranda hit a powerful home run.
Both Mexican players stole the spotlight during Tuesday’s baseball game, beyond the final score of 7-5 in favor of the New Yorkers.
Sensation in the Bronx

Belinda, one of the most influential Spanish-speaking pop artists, shared with her fans the excitement of attending a Major League Baseball game for the first time.
“Hi, I’m Belinda and we are at Yankee Stadium. It’s my first time at a baseball game and I’m very excited,” she expressed in her Instagram stories, where she was seen enjoying herself from a Legend Suite, just off third base.
Belinda was invited by the Yankees’ own organization as part of their efforts to connect with the U.S. Latino community.
His presence generated a wave of comments on social networks.
Despite wearing a jacket with the colors of the local team, Belinda did not hesitate to support the Mexican player of the Rays.

Before the start of the game, Belinda met with Tijuana first baseman Jonathan Aranda, with whom she even took pictures on the field.
During the game, he cheered him on with shouts of “Come on, compa Jonathan!” when the player went up to bat.
And their encouragement paid off: in the third inning, Aranda hit a home run to right field, his 12th of the season, putting the Rays momentarily up 3-0.
Aranda shines, but Yankees come from behind

Aranda’s effort was not enough to prevent the Yankees’ comeback.
The New York team responded with a three-run home run by Cody Bellinger and a deeper one by Anthony Volpe, sealing a 7-5 victory in the series opener.
The next game between the two teams is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30.
These types of moments reinforce the Hispanic connection to Major League Baseball.
The active participation of figures such as Belinda, combined with the outstanding performance of Mexican players such as Aranda, reflects the growing impact of the Latino community in U.S. sports.
