The big screen adaptation of acclaimed best-selling author Stephen King’s novel ‘The Life of Chuck’ sparked British actor Tom Hiddleston to reflect deeply on the fullness of life and the magic of the everyday.
“The magic of the small moments in our lives will be the brightest stars in our memories and in our last hours,” said the actor at a press conference in Los Angeles in which he unveiled the details of one of the most emotional projects in which he has been involved and that can be seen in Spain from October 17.
Tom Hiddleston plays Chuck Krantz, a character who, although at first glance looks like an ordinary man, hides “an inner world of infinite possibilities, connections, memories and unique experiences,” he explained.
What struck him most about the script was “that awareness that none of us know what the last day of our lives will be.” “We live that uncertainty and do the best we can with the life we have,” added Tom Hiddleston.
Directed by filmmaker Mike Flanagan, the film is structured in three reverse acts that explore Chuck’s life from death to childhood, opting for an emotional narrative rather than the classic horror archetype of King’s novels.
“That idea of the universe within each of us, the universe we build as we go through life, is a beautiful concept. I find it very comforting,” said the filmmaker.

The film represents a tribute to human resilience and connection in the face of uncertainty and the end of the world. “This film is so much better than I imagined. I’m very happy,” said Flanagan.
American star Mark Hamill, known for his role as Luke Skywalker in ‘Star Wars,’ plays Albie Krantz in this installment, who while portraying someone who might advise against pursuing dreams, his character reflects how difficult it is to find one’s own path.
“He’s a very ordinary man, and he probably drinks too much, but what excites him is the glory of mathematics,” Hamill added.
Benjamin Pajak, meanwhile, plays teenage Chuck, and his role involved “a really fun experience and something I’ll never really forget.” “All of that was put into this movie and I hope that all of that is projected really well on screen,” the young man said.
Although the film contains fantastic elements, the most remarkable thing about the project lies in the enormous emotional value.
“Each person is totally insignificant and each person is the most important person in the universe. And that’s the birth of compassion,” said Kate Siegel, who plays Miss Richards, Chuck’s teacher during his youth, reported Agencia EFE.
