Maribel Guardia revealed that she is about to move out of her residence in Mexico City, the house where she lived for years with her son Julián Figueroa, who sadly passed away in April 2023.

The Costa Rican-Mexican actress and singer explained that one of the main reasons for the change was security: she commented that “everyone knew exactly where I live” and that on several occasions unknown people would stand in front of her house. “Any problem I had, they were all standing at the gate and I was stuck under the car with the driver there half killing me. Oh, no, that’s no life,” she said sincerely.

Although the house is full of memories and affection – “I adore it and will always love it,” she said – she admitted that the space was too big for her and her husband at this new stage.

In this sense, she said: “The house is already too big for me, for my husband and for me, I think I will have to move to a smaller place”.

Despite her decision to change her residence, Maribel Guardia clarified that she does not plan to sell or rent her old house, as she considers it a place full of history. “That’s a lot of beautiful memories of that house, precious memories that I carry in my heart,” she said.

The house has witnessed not only moments of joy, but also of grief and resilience, after the death of her son. In recent interviews, the actress shared that the process of leaving that space involved “a mixture of emotions” and that she understands that “flowing” with the changes is part of life.

One of the most delicate aspects that Maribel Guardia addressed in her declarations was the subject of her son Julián’s ashes. She confirmed that she does plan to take them with her to the new home she will choose, although she clarified that she has not yet decided the precise moment.

“I already have the niche, it already has Julian’s name on it…my mind tells me, ‘You already have to do it.’ My heart tells me, ‘You can’t do it.’ But I have to merge the two of them,'” he said, his voice charged with emotion.

She also affirmed that she keeps an earring that belonged to her son, which she carries with her as a symbol of the connection and love that endures: “He lives in my heart… so I don’t need to have his ashes, but for the moment it is a process. No one knows this until they live it.”

Maribel Guardia shares that although leaving her home represents saying goodbye to an important part of her life, she sees the move as an opportunity for renewal. In an interview she confessed: “It’s time for a new chapter,” showing that the decision is not defeat but adaptation.

This transition occurs in a context of emotional healing and reconstruction, after the loss of her son and the need to balance memory with daily life. The new stage seeks to give her a more intimate and safe space where she can continue to move forward without giving up the legacy that Julian left behind.
