Argentine striker Ángel Correa, world champion with Argentina in Qatar 2022, has been officially announced as Tigres UANL’s new player for the 2025 Apertura MX League tournament. The Monterrey club confirmed that Correa signed a five-year contract, after reaching an agreement with Atlético de Madrid, where he played for a decade.
“World champion with grit, passion and talent; welcome to your new home, the home of the most champion of Nuevo León,” said Tigres on its social networks when welcoming the player.
Career in Europe and with the Albiceleste

Ángel Correa, 30, began his professional career at San Lorenzo de Almagro, where he won the Argentine league in 2013 and the Copa Libertadores in 2014.
In 2015, he joined Atlético de Madrid, making 469 appearances, scoring 88 goals and providing 65 assists.
During his time at the Spanish club, he conquered La Liga in the 2020-2021 season, the Europa League in 2017-2018 and the European Super Cup in 2018.
With the Argentine national team, in addition to the World Cup title in 2022, Angel Correa won the Copa America in 2021 and the Finalissima in 2022.
Since his debut in 2015, he has represented the Albiceleste 28 times, scoring three goals.
