U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to de-fund schools in the state of California that do not follow his policies for trans people, which since he has returned to the White House have been based on cutting rights to this community.

“Any California school district that does not comply with our transgender policies will not receive funding,” he wrote in a short message on his Truth Social network.

The majority of public school funding comes from state and local funds.

According to ED100, a California education blog, federal funding typically accounts for 8-10% of the state’s education budget.

One of these grants has already been cancelled by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

A representative of the HHS Administration for Children and Families told Fox News that they have ended the grant for California’s sex education program because the state refused to remove “radical gender ideology” from its curriculum.

“California’s refusal to comply with federal law and remove egregious gender ideology from federally funded sex education materials is unacceptable,” said Andrew Gradison, acting secretary of that office.

California’s Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP), which they have defunded, was intended to prevent teen pregnancies and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.

“The Trump Administration will not allow taxpayer dollars to be used to indoctrinate children,” Gradison added.

In addition, California has not yet amended legislation allowing trans athletes to compete in women’s school sports, after Trump signed an order to ban it and the Supreme Court upheld him.

However, California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, stated that he sees it as “unfair” for trans women to compete in women’s sports, a stance closer to that of the Trump Administration.

Since his return to the White House, the Republican has pushed anti-LGBTBIQ+ initiatives on at least four occasions.

It eliminated legal recognition of non-binary people by stating that there are only “two sexes” in the U.S., withdrew gender “X” passports, banned trans women from competing in women’s sports, and excluded trans people from the Armed Forces.

In addition, the Government has sent subpoenas to some twenty specialists and medical centers involved in gender reassignment procedures for minors.

And according to The New York Times, they are also seeking confidential information from patients who have received some type of therapy such as puberty blockers, hormones and/or surgery.
