The soccer world is in shock. This Thursday, Didier Deschamps presented the list of the 26 warriors who will seek glory at the 2026 World Cup, and the absence of Eduardo Camavinga has ignited social networks. Despite his undeniable talent, the French coach was blunt in explaining why the Real Madrid player will not be on the plane.

“He is coming off a difficult season in which he has played less and has had injuries. He’s still young,” Deschamps justified, acknowledging the huge disappointment the madridista must be feeling. It seems that the lack of minutes and physical problems outweighed Camavinga’s hierarchy on this occasion.

Kylian Mbappé was not to be missed.

The new Real Madrid star leads a squad full of talent, but with notable absentees.

Kylian was quick to react with a message of pride: “Let’s try to make them proud.”

Alongside him, other familiar faces from the Spanish league such as Tchouaméni (Real Madrid) and Koundé (Barcelona) made the cut.

Deschamps’ last mission

This World Cup is not just any old World Cup for the France coach.

After 14 years at the helm, Deschamps confirmed that the tournament that kicks off on June 11 will be his last competition as coach.

“I feel a particular emotion. I am aware of having done things that were the last,” he confessed, making it clear that his only goal now is to say goodbye in style.

The list also brought surprises in goal with the inclusion of Robin Risser and the confirmation of veterans such as N’Golo Kanté, who is still going strong from the Turkish league.

Deschamps emphasized that he did not necessarily call up the “best 26”, but those who give the best “balance” to the group.
