Charly García, Sting, Gusttavo Lima, Luis Fonsi and Bomba Estéreo in weekly releases

This week’s musical premieres include new collaborations with legendary artists: Argentina’s Charly García and Britain’s Sting released their first rock album together, Brazil’s Gusttavo Lima and Puerto Rico’s Luis Fonsi combined their cultures in ‘Vagabundo’ and Argentine rapper Trueno participated in the new song by the British band Gorillaz.

Also, Puerto Rican Jhayco returned to the music market with a new single; Colombians Bomba Estéreo and Carlos Vives shared a single in honor of their coastal roots; Argentine artist Luck Ra covered the song ‘Fingí demencia’ with the Cordoban quartet La K’onga; and Tokischa and Ñengo Flow joined J Castle and Hades66’s ‘Tokischa Remix’. In the City’ is the first joint project between Argentine and British rock legends Charly García and Sting, a historic single, originally composed in English by Sting, that combines the musical influences of both artists and unites different generations of fans on both sides of the Atlantic.

Brazilian artist Gusttavo Lima, known for his hit ‘Balada (Tchê Tchê Rere)’, and Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi released ‘Vagabundo’, their first song together, performed in Portuguese and Spanish, recorded in Miami Beach (FL, USA) and combining cumbia rhythms, modern sertanejo and elements of contemporary Latin music.

The Argentine rapper Trueno added his reflective lyric to the new song of the British Gorillaz, ‘The Manifesto’, which incorporates traditional Indian instruments and a posthumous verse of the American rapper Proof; work that is part of the second advance of the album ‘The Mountain’, on whose tour the Argentine will be the official opening act, after sharing the stage with the band in 2022 to perform a ‘freestyle’ on the classic ‘Clint Eastwood’.

Scorpio’, the return of Jhayco

After making two surprise appearances during Bad Bunny’s residency in Puerto Rico, his compatriot Jhayco returned to the music market with ‘Scorpio’, a single that was born during a solo trip to the Everglades natural park in South Florida, with which he explores darker and more experimental sounds within alt-reggaeton, and which is a preview of his next project.

The Colombian band Bomba Estéreo released ‘La Samaria’, its first single since the release of the album ‘Astropical’ (2025), with the participation of the also Colombian Carlos Vives in a song that pays tribute to the city of Santa Marta, place of origin of both and that celebrates its 500th anniversary, and that highlights the importance of the homeland in the personal and artistic formation of the musicians.

Luck Ra covers ‘I pretended insanity’ as a quartet

Argentine singer Luck Ra presented his version of the single ‘Fingí demencia’, an original by Argentineans RAMKY EN LOS CONTROLES and The La Planta, now reinterpreted with his compatriots from the Cordoba quartet La K’onga, about the idea of feigning insanity as a mechanism to overcome a broken heart.

Dominican singer Tokischa teamed up with Puerto Ricans J Castle, Hades66 and Ñengo Flow on the track ‘Tokischa Remix’, a reinterpretation of the viral single by J Castle and Hades66, which combines the irreverence of the Dominican with the street style of Ñengo Flow.
