The legendary Californian band Cypress Hill will release its first Spanish-language album, ‘Dios Bendiga’, on July 24, which celebrates its Latin roots and includes collaborations with Argentine rapper Trueno and Mexico’s Aleman, according to the band’s representatives, announced Friday.
“As one of the first Latin American groups to gain mainstream recognition in hip hop, ‘Dios Bendiga’ celebrates the group’s Latin roots and serves as an anthem of strength and resilience, a beacon of hope and a call for unity in response to the current state of the world,” a statement said.
With 35 years of history, the group formed by B-Real, Sen Dog and DJ Muggs is named after a street in Los Angeles, and since 1991 they have signed hits, from the release of their eponymous debut album or with the singles ‘How I Could Just Kill a Man’ or ‘The Phuncky Feel One’.
The new project was born in November 2025, in a “creative surge” orchestrated by percussionist Eric Bobo, who serves as musical director, in which B-Real and Sen Dog connected with their roots “with unprecedented fluidity,” all elevated with scratching by DJ Lord, the release details.

In that sense, Cypress Hill, with their “new sound and essential message”, seek to remain “pillars of the Latino community” and also a “cultural reference that unites generations”, hence their collaborations with new talents, including the duo Coyote and vocalist Poe Leos.
Cypress Hill became the first rap group to have two albums in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 at the same time, and was the first Latin American hip hop group to achieve platinum and multiplatinum status, with more than 46 million albums sold worldwide.
Dios Bendiga’ is presented on the HYBE Latin America label, and for the moment an appetizer is available: a first single with cumbia sounds, ‘Campeones’, in collaboration with Mellow Man Ace, one of the original members, of which the video clip was unveiled today, reported Agencia EFE.
