The 77th Emmy Awards, which was led by the comedy ‘The Studio’ with 13 awards, offered a red carpet that brought together fashion and politics, with Javier Bardem’s Palestinian scarf and Jenna Ortega’s rhinestone top as some of its main protagonists.

Javier Bardem, nominated for best supporting actor for the anthology ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’, came with the kufiya to denounce “Israel’s genocide in Gaza” and to demand a commercial and diplomatic blockade of that country, as he stated upon his arrival at the Peacock Theater.

Jenna Ortega, who presented alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Katherine LaNasa for ‘The Pitt’), stunned in a rhinestone top designed by Sarah Burton for Givenchy, which she paired with a low-waisted black skirt.

Her partner in ‘Wednesday’ (‘Wednesday’) opted for the same color with a semi-transparent corset dress and gothic-inspired signed by Yara Shoemaker Couture.

Red was another popular choice of the evening: it was worn by Sydney Sweeney and Selena Gomez, the former in a silk Oscar de la Renta gown and the latter in a Louis Vuitton design, while Hunter Schafer opted for magenta in a halter-neck Alexander McQueen dress.

Some of the most daring looks at the Emmy Awards were in the hands of the actors: Colman Domingo, nominated for best supporting actor in a comedy series for ‘The Four Seasons’, wore a Valentino with a light blue blazer and crystal embroidery, and Brian Tyree Henry wore a Jaeger-LeCoultre with a zebra brooch on his blazer and pearl necklaces.

Chanel was also the house of choice for Michelle Williams, nominated for best actress in a limited series for ‘Dying for Sex’, who chose a flowing dress in pale pink.

In the same color, with touches of blue, came Leighton Meester, who stepped on the red carpet to accompany her husband, Adam Brody, nominated for best actor in a comedy series for ‘Nobody Wants This’ (‘Nobody Wants This’).

The latter’s castmate, Kristen Bell, also nominated for that series, debuted as an Emmy Awards contender in an open-back Armani Privé. Cate Blanchett, nominated for best actress in a limited series for ‘Disclaimer’, chose a velvet gown from the same designer.

Pedro Pascal, who was up for the award for best actor in a drama series for ‘The Last of Us’, an award that went to Noah Wyle (‘The Pitt’), opted for white with a Celine design, and Seth Rogen, who won the award for best actor in a comedy series for ‘The Studio’, opted for brown, reported Agencia EFE.
