FIFA has reiterated its confidence that all 16 host cities for the 2026 World Cup will be fully ready to host the most ambitious tournament in soccer history. With less than a year to go before the ball rolls, world soccer’s governing body assured that infrastructure, logistics and security are on schedule in the United States, Mexico and Canada, the three host countries.

This World Cup will be historic for several reasons: it will feature 48 national teams, a new competition format with more matches, and it will be the first time that three countries share the organization of a World Cup. As a result, the level of preparation required is higher than ever, and FIFA has confirmed that each city has met the deadlines established for works, remodeling and adaptations in stadiums, airports, public transportation and tourist areas.
