In a May 15 labor operation at a housing development in Theodore, Alabama, ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents apprehended five adult undocumented immigrants and located two unaccompanied minors from Guatemala who had entered the United States in 2023.
Authorities determined that the minors were not enrolled in school and had no immediate family members in the area. Due to their situation, both were transferred to the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services(HHS) Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), in compliance with established federal protocols for unaccompanied minors.
