Actress Kelly Curtis, sister of Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis, died Saturday at the age of 69.
The eldest daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, one of the ‘golden couples’ of 1950s Hollywood, died at home “surrounded by nature” and “at peace,” her younger sister, Jamie Lee Curtis, said in a Facebook post.
“She was my first friend and lifelong confidante. She was stunningly beautiful and a very talented actress,” Curtis wrote in her farewell.

Kelly Curtis worked with her sister in ‘Trading Places’ (1983), a comedy directed by John Landis, and starred in the German ‘Magic Sticks’ (1987) and the Italian ‘The Devil’s Daughter’ (1991).
In addition to film, he also appeared in some episodes of ‘The Equalizer’, ‘Hunter’, ‘Silk Stalkings’ and ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’, among other series.
“She played hearts beautifully, collected turtles, loved her family, nature, music, thrift shopping, traveling, Facebook and Pokémon Go. She was proud of her Danish roots and Hungarian Jewish ancestry, and was a devout American patriot,” recalled Jamie Lee Curtis.
In her farewell, her sister assured that Kelly will be remembered for “her loving generosity, her strong opinions, her endless curiosity, her unique style and her crescent-shaped almond cookies sprinkled with sugar at Christmas,” which, she said, were the reason her nickname was “Aunt Cookie.”

“Kelly always ended any message or farewell with a Hungarian blessing… Isten Veled, God is with you. Isten Veled to my sister of the sun and moon, my Tai. See you later,” she concluded her message, to which she attached a photograph of her sister as a young girl.
Kelly Curtis was born in 1956 in Santa Monica, California. She graduated in business from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, and in 1989 she married performer and producer Scott Morfee, reported Agencia EFE.
