U.S. actress and director Jodie Foster told EFE on Sunday that she would like to make a film with Spanish director Pedro Almodovar but that her Spanish is not good enough at the moment.
Foster, 62, was honored Sunday by the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) with the Tribute Journey Groundbreaker Award for her career.

On the red carpet at the awards ceremony, Foster answered with an enthusiastic ‘yes’ to the question of whether he would like to shoot in Spain, but that language was a barrier.
“Yeah, you know, everybody wants to make a movie with Pedro Almodovar. He’s a lovely person. I’ve met him many times, but I’ve never made a movie with him because he only makes movies in Spanish!” she explained with a smile.
Jodie Foster wants to prepare herself to speak Spanish well
“So maybe at some point I’ll speak Spanish well enough to do that,” he continued.
But Foster added that it might not be so difficult to learn Spanish since she is fluent in French, a language in which she has just released her first film in which she plays a character entirely in French, ‘Vie privée’ by director Rebecca Zlotowski.

“I’ve also made a film in Italian, so…” the next one maybe in Spanish, he said with a broad smile, reported Agencia EFE.
