The NASCAR Cup Series 2025 experienced a chaotic and exciting day at the Texas Motor Speedway oval, where Joey Logano took his first win of the year after a race plagued by accidents and restarts.
The Team Penske driver started from 27th position, but with strategy, pace and a little bit of luck, he ended up taking the checkered flag.
Spectacular comeback

Joey Logano took the lead with only four laps to go, taking advantage of a mistake by Michael McDowell, who blocked him with worn tires.
After some light contact, McDowell hit the wall and caused an extension.
On the restart, Joey Logano held off teammate Ryan Blaney and Ross Chastain, who started from 31st and finished second.
With this victory, Logano has 37 wins in his Cup career.
He was thrilled to dedicate the victory to his team and to AAA Insurance, a sponsor since his early days with Penske:
“I’m very proud of the team’s work. It was a slow, methodical race.”
We had problems in the pits, but we recovered. It's special to finally win with AAA

Race marked by accidents

The competition was plagued by incidents in the final stage.
The first major yellow flag occurred when Denny Hamlin’s car caught fire.
Then Jesse Love, in only his second Cup appearance, spun with 48 laps to go.
This triggered a chain of pit stops and loss of key positions.
Kyle Busch and Josh Berry crashed after going over a dangerous bump in Turn 4.
While Carson Hocevar -poleman of the race- ended up involved in a multiple collision with Ryan Preece and Cody Ware.
In total, more than six yellow flags were posted on the final stretch, and names such as William Byron, Chase Elliott and Austin Cindric were out of contention.
